Managerial Social Responsibility
Managerial Social Responsibility (MSR) is a concept that goes beyond the well-known notion of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).
This element of management has undergone numerous analyses which tend to disregard the aspect and the context of the people who initiate the processes of social responsibility in their companies.
In the study, I wish to pay particular attention to this missing factor. My focus is the role of managers in the corporate ecosystem and their involvement in implementing social responsible policies of companies. This involvement stems from their beliefs and a cultivated value system based on empathy.
The aim of the study is to examine whether there are managers in Poland who build socially responsible businesses at the grassroots level and manage their teams following the principles and values of the CSR philosophy.
All the research activity is based on qualitative methods (mainly interviews) which will offer the participants the space to share their experiences and thoughts on MSR.
The data collected from the interviews along with the existing data will undergo a thorough analysis to understand the CSR activity in Poland, and in particular in the area of Wielkopolska.
The study is part of academic activity at the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań under the supervision of prof. Przemysław Wechta.
